Jazz on Wheels was founded by Pat Cronley and other Flint
area musicians in 2002 in an effort to introduce kids to
different styles of music. By demonstrating the
similarities in these styles rather than the differences,
the kids might be more inclined to give it a chance. We
begin by showing them how Jazz is influenced by so many
other musical styles and vice versa. It is the "Grandfather
of R&B, Hip Hop and Rap". It is the "Father of Rock and
Roll", a cousin to the Blues and Gospel, the "Godchild of
Classical" and the "Godfather of Soul".

Our 2008 was another big success. We performed at many of our
usual venues as well as some new ones. We would like to thank
the"Families of Murdered Children Support Group" and the "IMA
Whaley Park Festival" for having us. We have promised both
groups we will return next year. Jazz on Wheels operates on a
donation basis. We ask for nothing. If your group or
organization would like us to perform at your event, feel free
to contact us. Because of the nature of the project,(the stage
on the back of our truck), most concerts are scheduled in
summer. However we do make exceptions for certain situations.
We try very hard to accomodate all civic minded organizations
and we never let cost get in the way. Our children need to be
exposed to this music. They need to get away from the music of
today just for a moment and realize the history that lies
behind it.

Jazz on Wheels will keep on Rollin' because........
(in the words of Jake and Elwood Blues)
